The Rotary Club of Carol Stream is a local service organization, part of Rotary International, serving local communities and lending a hand on international assistance. Our principal local focus is serving people in need by sponsoring food drives, coat drives, and other service projects. Every year we contribute over $30,000 to local and international projects. The Clubs fundraisers three main fundraisers are the annual Chili Open Golf Outing, the Precision Grocery Cart Drill Team in the 4th of July parade, and selling beer at the summer concert series.

We meet for lunch every Tuesday at 12:15, with some weeks off for holidays. During the meetings we enjoy fellowship and a speaker. We also conduct business where every member has a say in what projects we will pursue.

Or most pressing current need is for volunteers to assist with our service projects.            Based in Carol Stream, World Relief Chicagoland serves over 6,500 refugees, asylum seekers, and other low-income immigrants in Chicago and the suburbs each year. With the help of our services, these immigrant families are able to rebuild their lives and become healthy, stable, and well-integrated members of the community. Our staff and hundreds of volunteers help these new neighbors to find housing, access transportation, prepare for and obtain jobs, succeed in school, access healthcare, learn English, become citizens, and build a brighter future for their children and grandchildren.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, World Relief has adapted its services to meet the growing needs of local low-income immigrant families. To ensure that we can meet those needs, we are seeking additional partners to provide gift cards (Walmart, Target, Uber, etc.) that can be distributed to families and direct financial support for our services. We are also seeking additional local employer partners who are currently hiring new employees, so that refugees and immigrants who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic can get back to work. Lastly, we always welcome more volunteers to get involved through our new virtual volunteer opportunities, including as English language tutors, “friendship partners”, and young adult mentor.   Volunteer
